Dorney Lake, 25 miles west of London, will be the site of the rowing, flat-water canoeing, and kayaking events. The 2,200-meter, eight-lane course is set in a 400-acre park and was recently brought up to international rowing standards by England's famous Eton College. Further work will expand the spectator facilities to accommodate 30,000 people. Transportation to the relatively distant spot will also have to be coordinated.
