Medium: The Internet
Using the Web to solicit donations wasn't new in this election cycle, but Obama has stretched the medium further than his predecessors. Voters usually get two requests from candidates: one for money and the other for a vote. Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod used the Web to expand the call to action, so attendees at a rally get asked to call a few voters in a swing state, or Digg users get asked to promote favorable stories.
