The XJ got a face-lift last year for the 2008 model year, with a new front end, a new rear spoiler on the outside, and new seats on the inside, redesigned to offer more rear-seat leg room. However, the improvements have not helped sales. The XJ has a 4.2-liter V-8. The naturally aspirated version produces 300 hp, while the supercharged XJR gets 400 hp. Top-of-the-line is the XJ Super V8, at $94,750. Jaguar and BMW were among the first brands to emphasize leasing as a marketing tool, in the early 1990s.
