Some wags call the Saab 9-7X the "TrollBlazer," a cross between Saab’s hometown of Trollhattan, Sweden, and the Chevy TrailBlazer, on which it’s based. Despite the nickname, the 9-7X is built exclusively in Ohio. That keeps it from being even pricier than it is, since it escapes the unfavorable exchange rate for the U.S. dollar versus the euro and the Swedish kronor. The 9-7X is built on a traditional truck frame. It will be replaced next year by the 9-4X crossover, built on a lighter, more car-like unibody, which saves gas.
