Sales for many coupes and convertibles are down this year, as drivers are finding it easy to postpone buying vehicles that they drive only part-time. The Z4 is also late in its lifecycle, especially by two-door standards. The present generation was launched in 2002 and updated in 2006. The base Z4 has a 3.0-liter, 215-hp six-cylinder engine. Prices range up to $53,225 for the Z4 M Roadster, with a specially tuned, 3.2-liter six that generates 330 hp. There’s also a hardtop Z4 Coupe and a Z4 M Coupe, with a hatchback and a small cargo area behind the seats.
