On Sept. 7, eager gamers finally get their hands on Spore, the long-awaited video game designed by Sims creator Will Wright. Originally shown to the public in 2005, Spore has generated unequaled buzz in the game industry and could boost publisher Electronic Arts' (ERTS) bottom line just in time for the 2008 holiday season.
Spore, or "Sim Everything" as fans have nicknamed it, lets players develop characters that evolve from single-cell organisms into complex, space-traveling creatures. The game also connects players with one another in a virtual, user-generated universe, enabling gamers to meet or fight others' creations. Here, check out a preview of the game's features.
