Not long after Apple (AAPL) began selling movies and TV shows through its iTunes marketplace in 2005, the company became the world's dominant digital movie retailer. These days, Apple sells or rents more than 50,000 movies a day. Jobs has also served as Pixar's sugar daddy, supporting the company as it developed the hardware and software necessary to produce computer-animated movies.
