Pixar's Toy Story, released in 1995, was a courageous 3D project. While many movies of the era used some sort of digital enhancement, Toy Story was notable for the fact that the whole picture—all 1,560 shots—was created digitally. At the time, Wired magazine called it "arguably the most ambitious computer-generated undertaking yet."
