Alan Lo, Paulo Pong, and Arnold Wong want to share the good life with the rest of Hong Kong. In November 2006, the three opened their first restaurant, a French-European brasserie called the Press Room. Next to the Press Room is Classified, a wine-and-cheese shop featuring what the three say is Asia's first temperature-and-humidity-controlled walk-in cheese room. Inspired by their first success, the group opened the Pawn, a restaurant featuring the old East and new West: modern British cuisine set in the ambience of old Hong Kong. Lo graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor's degree in architecture and has experience working for the Mandarin Oriental and Shangri-La hotels; Pong holds a BA in materials science from MIT and worked in Bordeaux for several wine estates prior to founding the Press Room Group; Wong holds a master's degree in jurisprudence from Oxford University and was previously a banker with HSBC.
