This power team of five created EditGrid as a response to Microsoft (MSFT) Excel's lack of collaborative possibilities on the Web. Hong Kong-based EditGrid is an online spreadsheet application with features 80% similar to Excel, but it allows users to collaborate online remotely. Starting with only $13,000 of seed capital in 2003, the team now has an annual turnover of $200,000 and recently attracted $1.25 million of additional investment in 2007—an amount that's testament to the company's potential. EditGrid now serves 180,000 users on its site and offers live updates of financial data packaged ready on EditGrid from data-providing partner Reuters (TRI).
