"I was at a conference for women executives when the news that the bailout bill finally passed. There was a huge round of applause. The biggest issue we face is access to financing for home purchases. 80% of home buyers find it difficult or impossible to get financing. They say, 'I don't understand it, I'm going to put my buying on hold.' We have an oversupply of houses on the market. We have to clear out this existing inventory of unsold homes. Until that gets cleared out you won't see any stabilization in prices. People are watching and waiting for conditions to stabilize so they can feel more confident. A new President in office can be catalyst. We've lost consumer confidence."
