Hyundai opened an auto plant in Montgomery, Ala., in 2005. The Korean company is now making the Sonata sedan and Santa Fe crossover in the Alabama plant, which has an annual capacity of 300,000 vehicles and employs 3,200 workers. Hyundai has recently revised this year's production plan for the Alabama plant downward to 245,000 units from an earlier 260,000.
