In 2005, the Hoffmans announced a gift of Impressionist and post-Impressionist works worth $150 million to the Dallas Museum of Art. The family supports the arts and social services in Dallas and science initiatives at Harvard. Husband Robert died in 2006 after a battle with leukemia. Now Marguerite, chairman of the family business Custom Food Group, honors his commitment to giving. In 2008 she has given to an organization in Africa that helps prevent the spread of AIDS, and she has supported art and education in Dallas.
