Wal-Mart Trampling

According to the National Retail Federation, some 172 million shoppers took to the malls of America on Black Friday, the day after the Thanksgiving holiday that's traditionally the biggest shopping day of the year. But while shoppers spent an average of $372.57, up 7.2% from last year, there were ugly scenes around the country. None more so than in Valley Stream, N.Y., where Wal-Mart (WMT) employee Jdimytai Damour was trampled to death by impatient shoppers looking to snap up inexpensive televisions and other bargains.
