In 2007, chipmaker Texas Instruments (TXN) conducted its first carbon footprint inventory—a step in the right direction. And it's outlined some goals, like getting all of its major facilities certified with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Initiatives (LEED) program, by 2011. But TI has little executive or board oversight of these projects, and the company has not disclosed targets for reducing emissions.
