CVS (CVS) vowed to lower its carbon footprint in a public “environmental commitment statement" adopted this year, but so far Ceres says the pharmacy chain has taken few steps toward meeting that goal. Notably, the company has not reported any information about its CO2 emissions—let alone a comprehensive plan to reduce them. CVS has, however, decreased the miles driven by its distribution fleet by 2.2%, and instituted a "no-idling" policy for vehicles at its distribution centers.
