Jobs Cut: Unclear
Honda (HMC) is cutting jobs in Britain and Japan because of falling auto demand, Japan's second-biggest automaker said on Dec. 4. Honda has offered an early-retirement package for workers at its British plant but did not disclose the number of workers to be cut. Honda is also reducing 760 temporary workers, or nearly 18% of its temporary workforce of 4,300 in Japan at four plants, through January 2009 in response to plummeting demand.
