Younger employees want more feedback than their older counterparts. They seek feedback for their performance multiple times a day. It's how they learn and grow. Provide that feedback, even if it is not solicited. But regardless of feedback, everyone in every generation wants to be praised. Richard Branson once said, "Lavish praise on people and they flourish; criticize and they will shrivel up." In a bad economy, frequent and public praise often get left behind. Give your employees a gift that will have far more value than a $10 gift card—praise.
