This year's Hong Kong Business of Design Week featured Dutch masters of design Marcel Wanders and architect Rem Koolhaas. Also included were University of Southern California School of Architecture's Ma Qing-Yun and Dubai Culture & Arts Authority's Michael Schindhelm. They discussed topics ranging from emerging cities' obsession with iconic buildings to marketing and design to earthquake solutions. The Hong Kong Design Center's panel of international judges chose Design for Asia Award winners. This year's stars included an Indonesia designer who developed a wooden encased radio, Lenovo of China for the Olympic Torch, and a Thai fashion designer whose work is featured above (Unbound, by Atelier Pichita). The World's Outstanding Chinese Designer went to Raman Hui, the creator of Shrek, and another award went to the University of Hong Kong for environmental design work on a new school prototype in Northwest China.
