Stocks That Buffett Might Like

Warren Buffett keeps many of his purchases under wraps, but you can try to invest the way he does by following his philosophy and hunting for stocks that meet certain growth requirements.

This screen, developed by Standard & Poor's, is based on criteria the legendary investor has emphasized over his long career. Only stocks with a market capitalization of at least $500 million are included.

The latest screen returned 33 stocks. Fourteen of them appeared in the last screen run by S&P in September 2008, including McDonald's (MCD), Oracle (ORCL), and Research in Motion (RIMM). Some newcomers include T. Rowe Price (TROW) and TD Ameritrade (AMTD), as well as Autodesk (ADSK) and Brown-Forman (BFb), the maker of Jack Daniel's and other liquors.

Keep in mind these are not stocks that Buffett has necessarily purchased or plans to purchase. They merely meet his criteria.

Here are the stocks that made the cut, in alphabetical order. To get further details on S&P's methodology, read the story.
