O.J. Simpson

"The Juice" was one of the most bankable athletes, perhaps best known for his athleticism in Hertz commercials from the 1970s, when he was still a star of the NFL. Other endorsements including Wilson Sporting Goods and Treesweet orange juice kept the money rolling in long after he retired from pro football in 1979. But the sponsorship gravy train came to an abrupt halt after he was accused of the double murder of his ex-wife and her male friend. Acquitted, he is now in prison after a conviction last year on separate robbery, kidnapping, and assault charges.
