Despite a 5% decline in commercial revenue last year due to a new, less-lucrative jersey sponsorship deal, 'Los Blancos' of Real Madrid remain the highest-earning club for the fourth consecutive year. Success on the field--the club won its 31st league title during the 2007-2008 season--and a lucrative broadcasting deal were the keys to Madrid's success. The club has five more years on a contract with media company Mediapro that guarantees approximately €1.1 billion ($1.4 billion) over its lifetime.
