Age: 22
Hometown: Westchester County, N.Y.
Major: Accounting, Finance
On The Economy: My friends and I spend half our time applying for jobs and the other half complaining about the recession. I'm applying to these big finance companies. I'm sending in my stuff, while simultaneously, they are laying off 15,000 people.
On Future Plans: I always thought I would get a finance job right out of school. Instead, I'm thinking about going to grad school, which I never would have done before. I'm applying for Lehigh's Master's in Accounting program. I'm applying for jobs mainly in New York, but I will consider New Jersey and Pennsylvania too.
On Majoring in Business: This is definitely what I'm most interested in. I considered law. I may have regretted finance if I didn't pick up the accounting [major]. Hopefully, things will pass. I know a few people who got jobs, investment banking and first-year analysts.
