Don't deduct the cost of merchandise for personal use.

Do you ever grab items from your inventory for personal use? If so, you cannot deduct what you paid for them as part of your "cost of goods sold." Keep track of merchandise you remove for personal use in a separate account labeled “withdrawal” or “personal.”
