The recession isn't crushing everyone. QlikTech's revenues swelled by 50% in 2008, and the Radnor, Pa., company had signed on roughly 300 new clients by mid-March. The tool driving those numbers is QlikView—a fast, flexible software application that can pull data from sources as disparate as a SAP (SAP) database and a co-worker's Excel spreadsheet, compress them, and add a point-and-click interface that's easy enough to deploy across a company. UBS (UBS), Audi, and 3M (MMM) are among QlikTech's customers.
