Morocco
Often overlooked by investors hunting for Mediterranean property, Morocco is finally trying to entice foreigners to buy local real estate. The government has given permission for six beachfront resorts—sporting such amenities as golf courses and health spas—to be built by the end of 2010. If relaxing in the sun isn't for you, Morocco also is home to cultural hot spots, such as Marrakech and Fez, that offer a wide range of historical sites and rental opportunities for visiting tourists.
Example: A two-bedroom beach-facing penthouse on the Moroccan coast, with access to a health spa and a 15-minute drive to a championship golf course, is on offer for $490,000.
