Milan "Mike" Puskar

How'd he get so rich? In 1961 Puskar and his Army buddy Don Panoz started Milan Pharmaceuticals, a small drug distribution business in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., which eventually grew into Mylan, a company that dispenses more generic drugs than any other company in the U.S. Puskar stepped down as chairman in May 2009, but not before helping the company grow to a market cap of $3.5 billion. With a fortune estimated at more than $700 million, he recently donated $20 million to the University of West Virginia even though he was himself a graduate of Youngstown State.
