The largest mobile carrier in South Korea, SK Telecom controls 51% of the country's wireless market. A pioneer of state-of-the-art mobile networks and services, it is now trying to offer fixed-line broadband services in a bundle with ultra-fast wireless connectivity. Still, it has one fierce rival thanks to a recent merger between KT, which has nearly 90% of the country's fixed-line phone market, and its wireless affiliate KT Freetel, which has a 32% share in the local wireless market.
