The portable, inexpensive Flip camera got the full Oprah treatment in November 2007 – six months after its launch – when the host used one to film a tour of her set and backstage area, and then gave one to every member of her audience. The show prompted a "dramatic increase in sales," according to Cisco Systems (CSCO), which completed its acquisition of Flip maker Pure Digital in May. The company also credits Oprah with enticing other celebrities including LeBron James, Miley Cyrus, and Bono to use the product.
