A stagnating economy has taken its toll on Cleveland, which has lost nearly a dozen large companies in recent years. But many others remain, including Sherwin Williams (SHW) and Eaton (ETN). A thriving health-care industry includes the city's largest employer, the Cleveland Clinic, and biotechnology and fuel-cell research is starting to take off. All of this bodes well for the city, which had 84 employers posting entry-level jobs on the AfterCollege site and boasted more than $41,700 in average annual pay for its workers.
