Notre Dame is a private Catholic university in Indiana founded in 1842. Its top-ranked undergraduate and graduate business programs, founded 79 and 125 years later respectively, have awarded thousands of degrees.
The Mendoza College of Business is home to faculty, staff, and more than 2,200 students engaged in undergraduate, graduate, and executive studies. In addition to the standard fare of a two-year MBA, undergraduate BBA, Executive MBA programs, and several Masters programs, Mendoza offers an accelerated one-year MBA and a number of joint Masters degrees. Undergraduate business students enter the program in their sophomore year and specialize in accountancy, finance, marketing, or management.
Notre Dame is one of the few religious business schools in the nation, and its Catholic roots give Notre Dame a different flavor. Mendoza's curriculum is seasoned with a healthy dose of ethics, and its social entrepreneurship program is considered one of the best in the nation. From academics to religion to football—Fighting Irish games are as devoutly attended at Notre Dame as Mass —students here are passionate, but not cutthroat. As one MBA student surveyed by BusinessWeek noted: "This is not a place where people throw sharp elbows or step on toes for personal gain."
