The University of Connecticut, originally called the Storrs Agricultural School, is one of the top public universities in New England. It was founded in 1881 and assumed its current name in 1939. Over 21,000 undergraduate and just over 800 graduate students attend the school. With a $2.8 billion, 20-year investment in the university's infrastructure, UConn is undergoing a transformation to bring state-of-the-art facilities to every campus.
UConn's School of Business was founded in 1941. It offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees at five campuses across Connecticut. In the first year of the full-time MBA program, students take core classes, which prepare them for the second year's more focused studies in two concentrations. Students have a choice of six: finance, health care, marketing, operations and information management, real estate, and venture consulting.
The undergraduate business program, which has been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business since 1958, has nearly 1,900 students enrolled. The program offers 10 majors in areas from health care to risk management as well as minors in business, entrepreneurship, and professional selling.
