Ivey School of Business

The Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario is steeped in tradition. It can trace its roots back to the early 20th century, when returning Canadian war veterans pushed the university to offer training in business. Today, one of the world's preeminent business schools according to BusinessWeek's international rankings, Ivey has an approach that's anything but traditional. The school has defied the typical undergraduate business program structure, allowing students to take their first two years at any accredited university and then come to Ivey only for the last two. And it has eschewed typical MBA training in favor of a one-year cross-discipline curriculum.

Located close to Canada's U.S. border, Ivey students spend their B-school days on a campus with an on-site gym, free campus transit, and acres of manicured parkland—great for skiing during Canada's formidable winters. Most students go on to jobs in Canada and are usually well compensated, though a smaller fraction also go on to work in the U.S. or other countries.
