Krannert School of Management

Purdue was founded in 1869 and was named after Lafayette (Ind.) businessman John Purdue. Purdue, which is located in Lafayette, began its undergraduate business program in 1958, and the business school, Krannert School of Management, was founded in 1962. Today the school's MBA and undergraduate programs bring a half-century of management expertise to the task of educating the next generation of business leaders.

Krannert takes pride in its realtively small student body—the school never has more than 400 students total enrolled in its full-time, part-time, and executive MBA programs. The two-year full-time MBA program gives students a chance to solidify their business skills in their first year and then specialize their studies or pursue an interdisciplinary approach to wrap up their time in business school.

Nearly 2,800 undergraduate business students call Krannert home. Leading areas of undergraduate study include accounting, finance, industrial management, operations management, and supply-chain management. In 2009, Krannert's undergraduate program was ranked 61st by BusinessWeek.
