"I had been working late in the office on a presentation due the following morning. I left the office around 11:45 PM and rode home. I went up 6th Avenue to 45th St. and cut across to the West Side. When I hit 7th Ave./Broadway, I was floored by the number of people around. Some were rushing, others lounging and mingling, but lots were carrying their bags and talking. People were clearly shopping, eating, and going places."
