An early pioneer of the first solid-body electric guitars, Les Paul's influence on popular music has been inestimable. From the design of his first prototype guitar, "The Log," to the iconic Gibson Les Paul he co-created in 1952, Paul raised the bar for instrumental innovation. Les Paul died Aug. 13 at the age of 94.
