Tools That Help You Track You

As part of a 10-year research project, Gordon Bell recorded pictures of everyone he met and everywhere he went with a device called a SenseCam hanging around his neck. The Microsoft (MSFT) researcher coined the word "lifelogging" to describe the practice of digitizing all the bits of information a person generates in the course of daily life.

And while you can't go out and buy the SenseCam that Bell used for the project, there are already plenty of tools and services that will help you keep your own lifelog—from tools that monitor your exercise and sleep patterns, to scanners that turn piles of paper clutter into digital documents. Some—like a smartphone with a camera—you may already have.
