Sporting Tradition

In addition to the city’s famed baseball, football, basketball and hockey teams, the Windy City is also home to the Chicago Marathon (pictured above) and other events. Chicago is situated on the shores of Lake Michigan, the sixth-largest freshwater lake in the world. Olympians in rowing, kayaking, canoeing, and marathon swimming will compete in the shadow of the famed Chicago skyline, which includes the tallest building in the U.S., the Sears Tower.
