This U.S.-based Web site was started by a group of Massachusetts business professionals with Italian roots. Alfred Zappala, the company's president, said he and his partners wanted Americans to discover what Sicily (and Italy) have to offer in terms of cuisine and culture. The site offers a wide selection of elegant imported Italian products, including Villa Sant'Alfio extra virgin olive oil, Valle dell'Etna Sicilian hazelnut cream, and Ruvidella artisan pasta. Other items include fig jam, Sicilian sea salts, and, of course, Italian espresso. The site goes one step further than simply being an online shopping portal—you can even find Italian recipes that incorporate the use of your new products.
