The rental car giant completed its integration of National and Alamo in 2009, borrowing tactics from National to improve the speed and efficiency of Enterprise’s airport locations. While the tough travel year meant the family-owned company laid off employees for the first time in its history, company representatives say fewer than a dozen of them were in positions that face the customer.
