"The Washington-area housing market is in the early phases of the recovery cycle," and new jobs and low interest rates will contribute to stabilization, states a first-quarter report by the Metropolitan Regional Information Systems and Delta Associates. A sign of strengthening: Prices are up and inventory is down in the Washington area, The Washington Post reported in May.
