The state's mountains, rivers, and beaches do not seem to be enough to get New Yorkers out and active, especially those upstate who go into hiding during the cold winter months. What about New York City? Residents of the country's largest city might walk more than the average American, and perhaps the gyms there are packed any day of the week, but many will complain about spending exhausting hours in a cubicle.
