Poland's birth rate has been falling since 1983, according to research firm Euromonitor. While the rate rose from 2005 to 2007 as the economy grew, the country still faces problems with an aging society, emigration, and labor shortages. The Population Reference Bureau expects that by 2050, there will be only two working people for each retired person.
