Goizueta Business School

Emory is home to a top liberal arts university as well as highly regarded graduate and professional schools. The college was founded in Oxford, Ga., in 1836 but did not expand into a university until almost 80 years later. In 1915, the founder of Coca-Cola sparked Emory’s transformation into a university by giving the school a large donation as well as a plot of land in Atlanta. The generosity of families associated with the soft-drink company has continued to fuel Emory’s ambitions to this day.

The Goizueta Business School, among the best in the country, is named for Roberto Goizueta, who was a chief executive of Coca-Cola for almost 20 years. The school offers undergraduate business degrees as well as full-time, part-time, and executive MBAs. While the school first offered an MBA in 1954, it has been educating Emory students about business since 1919 by offering courses on such topics as business law, accounting, and economics. Goizueta teaches all its students to be effective, ethical business leaders and offers a range of opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills.
